About the Bella Vista Hotel

The Bella Vista Hotel is a charming, small and friendly hotel ideal for independent holidaymakers, whether staying for one night on a tour round Corfu, or as your base for a longer stay. The Bella Vista Hotel has been completely renovated and updated making it one of the brightest, freshest hotels on Corfu island.

All 23 bedrooms are air conditioned and the theme is excellent value, comfort and FUN. The Bella Vista website features information in several different languages, each identified with the national flag.

A two star hotel with a five star attitude...

Bella Vista Hotel was built in 1980 and fully renovated in 2003. Since then, additional improvements have been made with the most recent partial renovation in 2006. The hotel accommodation includes 23 bedrooms newly decorated in bright, cheerful colors which are simply yet comfortably furnished. Rooms have a private balcony or a patio, are equipped with Air Conditioning, Satellite TV, Fridge, Direct Dial Telephone, and En-suite bathroom.

Full Greek Breakfast is included in the price and consists of a selection of local breads and savoury biscuits, sliced ham and cheese, home-made traditional cream, cheese or spinach pie, home-made cakes, breakfast cereals, yoghurt, fruit salad, chilled orange or cherry juice, and tea or filter coffee.

Hotel facilities amongst other things, include a bar, 24 hour reception, daily maid service, family rooms, air-conditioning, heating, safety deposit boxes, internet access, luggage store, car rental, fax services as well as free car parking and swimming pools nearby.

About Benitses

Benitses is an ideal base from which to explore the island, visit beautiful Old Corfu Town or simply enjoy peace and quiet by the sea. The village is located just 12kms south of beautiful Old Corfu town. Benitses' places of interest include the Corfu Sea Shell Museum, Benitses Springs, Achillion Palace, Pontikonissi-Kanoni. There is a choice of local traditional restaurants with Corfiot cuisine, coffee bars and music cafes along the beach and in the village. There is regular public transport to and from the city center.

A Brief History of Corfu

Corfu Island is 593 square kilometers (229 square miles) in area, with a population of 93,000 people of whom 35,000 live in Corfu town. Corfu, the emerald island is part of Ionian islands the seven islands that extend in parallel line along the coast of mainland Greece. Shades of blue and green are the colours of Corfu. The endless olive tree landscape astonishes visitors.

Corfu history is rich and dates back to Homer. Corfu stands between East and West and has always been the bridge between the two different worlds of Western and the Eastern culture. In the middle ages Corfu was occupied by the Venetians, French and the English. Corfu as a Tourist Destination

What to do on Corfu

Bikes - A great way to both Corfu and get exercise is biking. Corfu cycle bike hire can be arranged at the hotel along with Corfu maps and Corfu biking itineraries. Two types of bicycles are rented: Tour bikes: 24 gears, in 6 sizes (ladies 51 and 57 cm, man 54, 57, 61 and 65 cm). Mountain bikes, 24 gears, unisex in 4 sizes (18", 19,5", 21" and 22,5"). Dancing - Greek night events consist of food at taverns with live music where Greek and Corfu dancing is performed by folklore groups all dressed up in traditional costumes. Quad Bike Safari - Corfu bike tours runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays leaving from Moraitika. The Corfu bike tour includes off road biking from Moraitika down to beautiful Korission Lake south Corfu, amazing Halikounas beach, through to traditional Strongilli village and lunch at a local beach tavern. The Corfu bike tour continues to off road Benitses streets, up to Achillion Palace and return from the picturesque village of Agii Deka to Benitses Moraitika at 18.00. Paragliding - Parascending is an exciting way of seeing Benitses village and nearby places. Normally starting at Benitses from mid-June onwards. Bookings at Benitses beach 50 meters from the hotel.

Aqualand - Corfu water theme park is an exciting Corfu sea world park in the middle of the Island. Corfu Aqualand is one of the most amazing water adventure theme parks in Greece and Europe. Sailing - A number of private companies are offering approved sailing courses in Corfu and the Ionian Sea. Corfu and Ionian islands sea sailing cruising courses include Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yacht master. Golf - Golfing is available at Corfu Golf Club at Ropa valley, just 30 minutes drive away from Benitses. The Corfu Golf course was designed by Donald Harradine and includes an 18 holes course. The Corfu golf course is one of the 19 greatest championship courses in Europe. The International Amateur Golf Championship is taking place during May 15th till May 21st, 2006 and Corfu Golf Spring Festival from May 22nd till May 28th 2006. Scuba Diving - Diving in Corfu provides many surprises for both new divers as well as experienced ones. The coastline around Corfu is rich with sea life and interesting artifacts that make for some great dives and excellent photos. Tennis - Tennis is another of the many outdoor activities available on Corfu. Tennis courts can be booked at various locations however we recommend the tennis court in a nearby hotel. Enquire at reception for reserving the tennis court.
